The Brentwood Oaks congregation was founded in 1952 in north-central Austin. We moved to our present 40+ acre campus at 11908 N. Lamar in 1981. The congregation meets for worship three times a week, and hosts numerous small-group meetings for personal development and encouragement. On this site, we operate Brentwood Christian School (K-12), Brentwood Oaks Developmental Preschool and a mothers' day out program called Children's Ark. Our congregation owns and operates the Village Christian Apartments, a 106-unit retirement living center for older adults and disabled persons who are able to live unassisted. The congregation welcomes single persons, couples, and families with children for worship. We provide a special SonShine Hour for children two and a half through five years of age. Experienced parents manage our nursery, using individual pagers to notify parents when they need to return to the nursery area to attend to some special need. We are a congregation living under the authority of the Scriptures. We gather to worship God with sincere joy. We welcome to our community all who seek to worship God in an atmosphere of reverence and who desire to grow in the ability to honor God by the way they live. We support efforts to communicate the Christian faith around the world. Our members travel to locations in Latin America, Africa, and Eastern Europe to share God's love for all people and to care for the physical health needs of people in a variety of medical-evangelistic missions. Grace and peace to you. |
