This is a teaching church that is concerned with the moral development of all of its members, but especially its children. It seeks to equip its youth with Christian values applicable to the difficult pressures of contemporary life. The Congregational Church of Austin is a small - extended family style church. It will be particularly appealing to persons desiring to explore their own faith positions and entertain various possible interpretations of biblical and other theological sources. This church involves everyone in a range of roles in which all may feel as active participants in church leadership. The Congregational Church was established in 1901 and is celebrating its centennial year this year. It is currently involved in an active self-study to clarify how we may continue a long tradition of leadership in social action and service to those in need and other activities that extend spiritual dimensions into the inportant issues of everyday life. If you wish to be a part of a diverse and loving community that seeks to live its faith, come look us over. The members of this church celebrate ethnic and cultural diversity and seek to be exemplars that diversity does work, and indeed strengthens a church.
