We are a Bible-based, Spirit-filled fellowship that confesses Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Our congregation is composed of people of various races, ethnic origins, ages, social backgrounds, and denominational backgrounds. We believe that everyone is important. The church was founded in 1992 by David and Connie Bernard. He graduated from Rice University (1978) and the University of Texas School of Law (1981), and she is a native of Austin. They felt God leading them into full-time Christian ministry, and after 11 years they returned to Austin to start the church. They began in their home. After one month the church moved to rented facilities, and in September 1996 it moved to its own building. As of the spring of 1998, the church has approximately 230 people in weekly attendance. It conducts numerous forms of outreach, including services in jails and nursing homes. Visit the official New Life United Pentecostal Church website for further information. |
